The San Francisco Bay Trail is a planned 500-mile pedestrian and bicyclist trail encircling San Francisco and San Pablo Bays for both recreational and transportation uses.
East Bay Regional Park District and the City of Richmond have partnered to design and construct 2.5 miles of San Francisco Bay Trail between the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge and the northern terminus of the City of Richmond’s Point Molate property at Stenmark Drive;. This includes 1.0 miles of shoreline trail on an easement donated by Chevron plus 1.5 miles on the City’s Point Molate property.  See the Richmond Bay Trail website for the status of this near term project and the longer term plans to continue the Bay Trail to the City’s former Terminal 4 property at Point San Pablo and the nearby yacht harbor.
