Our March meeting will focus on Code and Ordinance enforcement, which has been a source of frustration and confusion
for so many of us.
We hope to have lots of information and tips on how to make sure that codes and ordinances are enforced in our neighborhoods.

PLEASE JOIN SO THAT WE CAN CONTACT YOU! Membership fees are minimal and we’ll grant a waiver of fees
if you write the word “waiver” on your membership application. If you are a member, please make sure your
information is current; ask your neighbors and friends to make sure that are PRNC members.

When you share your information with us it is kept completely confidential. If emergencies occur we send emails
and post the information on the Community Center doors.

The Thirty -Three Year Shoreline Park Saga by Doug Corbin
With no fanfare, a new way to ask questions, post requests or make complaints via the Internet is now available through the City of Richmond website. It is called cor-connect - Contact City Hall and can be accessed from the City of Richmond home page at www.ci.richmond.ca.us. No one told me about it. I simply stumbled onto it looking for something else. This new feature is apparently in addition to the GIS LINKED CITY SERVICE REQUEST (place a direct order for service here) that was the subject of a November 26, 20005, E-FORUM.Once you are into COR-Connect, you must log in if you are a new user and then simply follow the instructions, copied below:

To use COR-Connect, please follow these three easy steps:

  1. Choose a topic and subtopic that matches the subject of your request. This will allow us to quickly and efficiently route your request to the appropriate staff member. Create an account so that you can track the status of your inquiry and response on-line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. While it is not necessary to establish an account to contact the City through this service, it does help City staff more effectively establish a communication link with you.
  2. Write and submit your request.

Richmond seems to be making explosive strides in the area of customer service access. I would be interested in hearing from citizens what their experiences are using this. - Tom Butt

You can now place a “service notification” with the City of Richmond via the Internet.
This may be for a pothole, a pile of trash in the street, a stopped up sewer line, a non-functioning street light or a neighbor building a room addition without a permit. This type of request creates a permanent record of when it was made and to which department it was forwarded.
You can start by going to the City of Richmond web site at www.ci.richmond.ca.us and clicking on place a direct order for service here or directly to the web page http://sapweb.ci.richmond.ca.us/notification/index.asp.

Go to the “REPORT” tab and enter the location by street address, cross street or parcel number, and click on “GO.
Under the “REPORT” tab, click “CREATE NOTIFICATION.”  Ignore the “SAP Login” box, which is for City employees only. Select the “Problem,” and fill in “Short Description” and “Additional Information.” Then click “Submit."
Later you can go to the “NOTIFICATION” tab find out of the service request response has been completed or what the estimated date for completion is.
would be interested in feedback from people who have used this as to whether or not it is working for you and whether the problems you reported were addressed.
